Lost without a clue

Lost without a clue

There was this girl I once knew
What I felt for her she had no clue
I would by her gifts out of the blue
And whenever she smiled I would look at my shoe
Flowers I would by in all shapes and hue
But praises and gratitude, I only received a few.

Careful I would thread around her, like She’s made of glass
And her bags and books I'll carry to class
And whenever we had lunch break she would walk straight pass
And just like glass, my heart shattered and crashed.

Now that I'm older I realize I was a fool
Willing to break my heart just to be with someone cool
Fooling my self that she would somehow get a clue
Until I finally realized what I've always know was true
Thank God I opened my eyes, it was past due.
