Love At First Sight-October 29,1992

Thirty years ago in Boston, on the most infamous of dates;
I opted going to a well-known singles dance, in search of a new mate!
I had moved there just three weeks before, a relationship had come to end;
Having been there often for my business, lots of clients there to tend!

After a most profitable day in Connecticut, I wavered on what to do;
Almost deciding I wasn’t going, almost not meeting you!
But I threw myself into overdrive, and drove the hundred miles back;
Took a nap and ate some dinner, then went to find the person I now lacked!

The venue, Vincent’s in Randolph, Thursday night the forty and over crowd;
Average attendance at least six hundred, non-stop music playing loud!
I was dancing with a girl named Linda, then went back to retrieve my drink;
I had left it on an empty table, us getting separated in a blink!

Two ladies were now sitting there, as I spotted the girl I was looking for;
I screamed out “Linda”, shocking one, and into me, the other tore!
“You scared my friend to death, sir, her name is Linda too”;
I looked over and apologized, meeting eyes with lovely you!

A few minutes later, I was back again, asked if you’d like to dance;
You fell right into my open arms, and we never stood a chance!
For after all our years of searching, we were introduced by fate;
Who joined our Souls together, at last, to find their mates!

Four nights later, I asked you to marry me, you didn’t hesitate, saying yes;
We married seven months later, you most beautiful in your wedding dress!
We are living proof that it happens, “Love At First Sight” does exist;
Thirty years of perfect passion, a heartbeat never missed!
