A love in controversy ( A Romeo & Juliet ).

A fire is burning In a room with closed doors The windows are fastened tight Together they lay in stillness No breath within the night A romance forbidden By all eyes that see Now a story of controversy A Romeo and his Juliet Upon a sheepskin mat did stay Burning heat surrounding smoke Took their loving fight away Two bodies bound By embrace Stillness within their eyes Inhaled their final breath Death their imparting cries Ash staining The tear marks on their face A sadness within the Smokey air As their bodies begin to burn Separating such a union The world of stricken eye's Now see A lesson of love to learn The romance essence of soul Endless love between thee Marks the death Romeo and his Juliet For stricken eyes to see Up in flames Of passionate heat A love in controversy Such strife a union forbidden Sadly took their lives.

Lol sis, they had to die its a tragic love story,

A modern and interesting twist on a tragic story...liked what you did here, nardine...very fresh and quite a pleasant read in a beauty for ashes sort of way; great articulation and tone captured; I once heard it said that Shakespeare intended to write a comedy with Romeo and Juliet (as apposed to what it was, a tragedy) but their love was too pure to survive in this wicked world, so the story became tragic...not sure if that's true, but I love what you did with this poem...really good read, nardine
Thank you Christopher, you say such lovely things, i appreciate it,
