Am I supposed to inspire?
Are you supposed to admire?
Look at me!
I never take a chance,
I don't risk,
When I was young, I was fearless,
Love was enough, I was careless,
I stared out of my window,
Dreams trickled in the rain,
I knew I was me, me alone,
Wanting something,
Frustrated pain!
I longed for children and a woman's love,
I never thought, it would ever come so soon,
Desperate for a feeling to overshadow my loneliness,
I hung on to every word from her, to fulfil my emptiness,
My heart was whole,
It was beating for another soul,
An ear on her chest, I heard every heartbeat,
A kiss on my neck, she had me when I was weak,
She was my reason to breathe,
Love was enough,
She gave me angels,
Their youth was tough,
Still is;
A decision was made,
Heart's, were to break,
When the news from us was told,
Tears ran from blue eyes so cold,
Blurry eyes, I couldn't drive,
Morning so grey, I was so tired,
Again,
Love was enough,
Or so I thought,
For I even gave up,
I tried...
I tried...
Jesus I tried!
Now, years have gone by,
Now, I see my angel's smile,
I've been a friend and a mother,
At times, I've been sad,
I've been a loving dad,
I don't know who I am myself,
I know, I've low mental health,
I don't wish any different though,
I know I'm giving everything I can,
My girls show me the path they know,
I'm so happy, for they have the right home...

Love, IS enough.
