A LOVEBIRD'S SONG

A LOVEBIRD'S SONG

The scene is set

The sky turns blue

A feeling of a different hue

A melancholy tinge of love

The singing symphony from above

Sweet scent of petals in the breeze

A dream that flickers through the trees

A halo of a different kind

Circling nature; true hearts they’ll find

And so these love birds come to rest

Embracing natures single test

And when they’ve shed their feathers and young

They fly together

Their own dreams to be sung

In flight; in rest; in love; in sync

Two lovebirds nuzzling form a link

Of  heart-shaped feathers intertwined

A natural love; two hearts; two minds

And when the final day arrives

Oh little lovebird!

She sleeps; she dies ...

No longer form a heart-shaped link

Poor manly lovebird’s head now sinks

But never to have broke his bond

He’ll stay eternal;    a lovebird’s song
