Poem -

Love's Cup

Pleasure is no longer a part of me
I have set those desires free
Accepting what I cannot change
finding life no longer strange
Because I am now sailing away
toward new horizons every day
Lest my raft like Odysseus' be broken
and accept Nausicaa's love unspoken
Would I, before age catches up
find myself drinking from love's cup
Setting my sails and heading off
amongst bitters mocker's scoff
Never have I been the king
not of a people or anything
All of this to tell a bitter story
how I gave up the quest for glory
