Love’s Footprint

Love’s Footprint

A stab in the heart
Brought her to her knees
Though only young
The pain still ripped her to shreds

Icy cold chills and love on a screen
Can’t stop the pain from seeping through
Only time and a change of heart
Can really help, or so she was told

The pain strikes again
When she arrives
A stab again
Just a reminder of the failure

It’s been years now
But she still remembers
The harsh kick
Of love’s footprint
