Lullaby

Lullaby

Faint music fills my ears,
I smile wryly as I know my time is near,
Even I cannot fight time,
The only thing that eases the pain is the music,
This shall be my final lullaby,
A lullaby of death.

As my eyes close shut, I relive the long life I've lived,
Marriage, Children, Grandchildren and even my first great grandchild,
I've never wasted a moment of my life,
And now I can enjoy a long deserved rest.

The lullaby eventually goes silent and so does sound itself as I go stiff and cold.
Smiling even in death,
I am happy that I didn't waist a moment of my life.
