Lunar Lion
As i rise
Beneath the vines
Within the jungle of me
Bound by the slithering vipers
That shackle me
In the still of the night
As the warden owl is in plight
I roar
I have bleed, wept and clawed
Braven, a warrior once more
As the lunar ignites my sky
With lion eyes
I stand reborn with pride

Love the imagery here...you write darkness well 🤗
Much appreciated I like to weave a touch of darkness and entwine it into hope. Thanks so much.
Yes...I write quite dark sometimes...saying that I generally write all the crap in my head whatever colour it is lol...😬😬😆
Twistoftroy, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem and how you skilfully wove human emotion's throughout. A real joy to reread from beginning to end and loved your closing line echoing and mirroring with that great virtue called hope.
Thanks for writing and sharing and full honours deservedly given.
And I wish you well and enjoy life, poetry and all the good virtues they have to bestow
Your words are incredible to read truly, there is something special when your words connect to a reader and you see my imagery and emotions. Hope is all around. Thank you
A little treasure of a poem. Short but oh so to the point ⚘x
