Machinery of the state

Machinery of the state

The suffered
Buried Into
The earth
The cold dark earth
Where the machinery of the state
Did their “duty”
Not one breath was left
Into the pits they fell
Covering up their brothers
Father, sons, daughters
Mothers, uncles and aunts
Into the brown mud earth
Shop owners and carpenters
Dressmaker and tailor alike
The place between the trees
Is the death place
Of lives that wept
Into final moments
For the suffered
Headstones and
Places of rest left
In the cemetery of
The souls
