The madness within

The madness within

God I am suffering
I am in the disease state
Sweltering in
The fever
In the bed of death
Poring out the memory
Of the war
of sweat and insect
Beside the bridge of
the River Kwai

Each day building
The round truss spans
Our arms heavy
with the burden of war

Now these years later
I am almost gone
Like a water drop in
The river
I must flow
into a different place
And perhaps
save my own tears from punishment and the
madness within

Random Enigma

This is a very heavy write.  It holds layers of meaning and emotion and forces one to think.  Well done!
