the magpie-lark

the magpie-lark

I came across this land
Surrounded by invisible hands
I sit surrounded still serene
'awaken by a subtle dream
All the trees have now woken
Walking amongst ghosts' 'tis spoken
Holding hands by limb
Their merry way across the grass,
The twigs that last
Thrown into silence park
On whim
Night covered flat plains dark
Twitters of thy merry heart
Asleep in nests the magpie-lark
I came across this land
Surrounded by invisible hands
