Poem -

Maiden free

I gave to thee, twas but within; Ā free
what was, what is, what will; but me
yet with eyes wide shut & desires blind
you stretched forth for stars and dreams
longing for one who'd love only thee
but with the heart diffidently.
I saw thee true
I saw thee clean
and gave to my heart's being
open handed to thee Ā
to be tread upon so carelessly.
So to GOD I pray,
and to GOD I pleadĀ
his blessings upon you & good tidings be,
and fair thee well, my maiden free.
