MAKING RAINBOW

MAKING RAINBOW

I used to have all
the colours of a rainbow
till CANCER came along
Plodding all alone
to reach the end
Chemo after chemo
Top-notch on my memo.

Red lipstick on my lips
Went on shopping spree
Pretending to be mellow
Yet terrified underneath
A doing, not misplaced!

Today I saw a pot of gold
at the corner of a hospital ward,
Where rainbow ends
Shimmering of sundry hues.

I didn't know what to do
Should I let it stand
' as long as rainbow shines'
Then turn bad days to good days too.

The pot of gold kept shining
because I let it so.
I realised I had made my own rainbow
to carry me through
this Valentine's day
with a waggish glee!

Every time I see a rainbow
I feel happy; all people smiling too.
Paint the world with rainbow
LET ALL THE PAIN GO!

Thank you Hardlocklover,

I find it therapeutic to write and read my own life experience as a cancer survivor.

This is how I survived the sickness.

I went to chemotherapy properly dressed with Lipstick,  make -up,  as if nothing was going on.  Positivity is the key word to healing.  Hope and trust to the almighty God too.

I am dedicating this to all out there battling the same ordeal.  Also to my mother who died of breast cancer and my best friend who is now in hospital.

Thank you Caizley

I can say,  women are good at tackling difficult situations.  Sorry!  I don't want to offend men.

Women often have many things to deal with that men don't so we kind of get used to dealing with the trials and tribulations of life with a little more stride. However going through this isnt easy whatever your sex xx

You're definitely right!

What I'm saying is, speaking from experience. men perceive pain differently than women. physically and psychologically. Men are silent, perhaps of the "men's macho ego",

When I was sick. the pain of that small pointed needle was even more horrifying than the treatment.

Oh my god, why has it taken me this freaking long to find this. It's a great poem, and I like the message you put through it. But I just want to point out, that by complete chance, I used the same picture on my poem "Philosophy of Dreams."

-Sorry, Just Needed to say that Out loud, sort of.....
-Loves and best wishes, Dmitri Rudder

Hi Dimitri,

Sorry for this late reply...
I'll visit your page later to see if we have the same picture on this poem.
Maybe we scrolled the same website LOL.
This was the best 'rainbow ' image ' I could find and it complemented my poem beautifully.

thanks again
