Married, we strangers

Cascading, “I once pictured us ending this way”
but I’m one who’d say, you’re self-fulfilling.
Thus, now we’re failing, though I have held on through sway.
All good things decay, still I wonder why to death our love lay.
Â
Infidelity, to see the immediate.
We can’t mediate when you creep away with alacrity,
rob my dignity and seek to alienate.
Your duplicity abandons me into disparity.
Â
Rupturing the brittle walls of my beat-less heart.
Remember our start, young adventuring...
Failed at capturing the depth of our purest parts,
and this ends the art, so now you depart.
Â
Lasciviously, you prowl bars, basements, our bed;
searching through the dead. You just keep seeping out so anxiously,
so unlovingly, searching for moments that help pretend you’re unwed.
I know what I said, till death, I have bled.
