Poem -

Mask of Deception

She goes through the motions each day with the greatest success
on the inside, though, she feels in such a way nobody would ever expect.
On her face she wears the most beautiful of smiles,
a distraction worn well to hide the darkness churnig inside.
She's become quite accustomed to carrying on with this deceit,
not ready to admit the emotional fail she can't seem to defeat.
How is it that nobody around has any idea of this battle she fights?
How long has it been since she can last remember feeling alive?
She tends to her babies, her husband, and her home,
showering them with love and affection, but at the end of the day she still feels alone. A mask of deception covers all that consumes what's left of her inside,
permanent reflection so nobody can see the emptiness she hides.
