Maiden’s Voyage

Maiden’s Voyage

Decorations hung on a heart under this gloom

fortnight sky,

An anchor lifted by life’s tide but never swept aside,

A drifting mind opens to the beacon you placed

inside,

Its dark in here but an entrancing light projects from

afar,

Like a singing Siren on a hanging star,

In the distance its light casts shades,

Across a once windswept sand,

Reflecting the brightness of your face

Touch softly with outstretched hand,

Connecting with whom I give the most and ask for

much,

Perfection is not yet in me but perfection coming

clearly see,

It’s Her; sailing on a ranging sea of endless

possibility.

David Vitali 2017.

From my first book of modern poetry.
