Unnatural Catastrophe

Unnatural Catastrophe

There is a new plague in our midst,
Slaughtering the innocence of our young,
Filling minds with a foreign poison,
Tying the noose from which hearts are hung.

An insidious, brutal killer,
Of love, beauty, and all that makes man good,
A creeping shadow of death to touch,
A crisis not yet understood.

A beauty queen becomes a beast,
Men of principles the walking dead,
Minds unraveled and twisted forever,
Hollow bodies to a psychiatric bed.

Damage permanent to fragile brains,
Weeping sores and needle tracks,
Savage paranoia and delusion,
Insanity lurking behind frightened backs.

Each dawning day new graves are dug,
Filled with those who payed the price,
Those who played with the methamphetamine fire,
And fell prey to the monster we call “Ice”.
