Me and my Mum

Me and my Mum

Long tall stories, fables of delights she used to sit by my bed and I could picture her sights.. I loved her voice such a melodic sound as she spun those yarns my wonderment wound..scarey spiders and groovy ghosts, merman chasing mermaids swimming along the coast..millions of books my Mum read to me as I lay in my bed contentedly

Oh how I miss those childhood days listening to my myths with picturesque displays.. I went within the adventures inside my little head, as tiny characters came to life they talked and tread..there was so many different versions of Mum’s fairy tales, amidst Peter Pan and the ships with sails..how I cowered in my covers when I heard Captain Hook’s name, haha I thought he was real, wasn’t that a shame..but then again I was only little, so very young and small betwixt my imagination, I could envisage it all

My Mother had her brilliant way of reciting her spiel, capturing my mind’s eye in romantic reel, she took me to places I had never been before as her sweet voice spoke of sagas with tin soldiers at war.. but as I sit with my little ones gathered on my knee, my three daughters, daughters are special to me, I still have all of my Mother’s marvellous memories from those bygone years with my bedtime books of treasuries.. so as I turn the pages of my Granddaughter’s book, she reminds me of myself with her curious look.. I mimic my Mother with her vivid creations, she shall always be in my mind with her fantastic fascinations

Lovely Jill. You write well.
I must say I enjoyed your write "Pray for Australia"... our country is most certainly doing it tough, we are in shock and grieving. I have never known anything to be as bad as this.

What a beautiful memory of your mom reading to you. She planted a seed within you to love books and to write about your experiences. I like the descriptions of the different characters and stories she read to you. Great job showing the scene and keeping the words flowing smoothly to the end.

 Great job, Jill.
