Poem -

Melbourne

I lie awake at night, despite the fact my body yearns for sleep.
I make no sound for I am city bound, I lie without a peep.
The night sky blood red because of the lights below.
The people of Melbourne do not seem to know, the simple pleasure of seeing stars.
With roads winding and thick, thin houses of brick and coffee that is held with four fingers.
six million people together, ignoring each other, I have never felt this alone.
Curled up in my bed, Prayers in my head, I fear they will all go unanswered.
Tomorrow I shall wake, put on a smile that is fake and walk out into the city of Melbourne.
