Memento

Memento

And I open
the creaking door
of my cracked cupboard

No skeletons -
just moths hovering.

And I open
the rough-edge drawer
grab my stuff hastily -
invisible bramble pierces my skin.

I snag my body on the
stinger of my ghost.

I didn't want to
look.

They are all there.

My relics my memorabilia.

My first Everything
lies there

staring at me.

I wasn't looking for anything but

this.
