MEMORIES OF THE PAST
Why does my mind reflect
on memories of the past
Memories of those fleeting moments Â
of a love which didn’t last
All too soon it ended
we both had broken hearts
Hearts that were not mended
from hurts from both our pasts
Hearts that stopped us believing
that we were really loved
We were just so far apart
words were not enough
Just words can be so empty
 they don’t show us how they feel
It is only when we hold them
we know that love is real
We can see it in their eyes
we feel it in their touch
Even though they may have said
I love you just so much
I wish there was no distance
 I wish there was more time
Maybe I would have found the truth
that they were really mine!

Oh my goodness LYN!!!........ it's as though you've written this just for me..........i can relate and identify with each and every line of this VERY well crafted piece......... it speaks to that which so many of us have experienced.........."
