Poem -

Memory

I remember you,
standing in my bedroom
your fingers in my hair
your lips taste like love,
like destiny, desire
like peace.

I found peace in you
your fingers wrapped around mine
nothing could ever break us
we were invincible

You were my anchor,
my lifeline, my lover
It was my fault I didn't see you fade
your smiles became weaker
your kisses softer

I wake up crying
my hand grasps for yours
as the memory of you,
slips through my fingers

I found you that evening,
cheeks damp with tears,
the pool of blood still warm
you cut your lifeline,
and severed my heartstrings in the process.

I remember you.

this is beautiful and ashen, melancholy a bit blue and altogether like a memory....deep tones carrying emotions, love regrets....all seemingly abruptly ending, yet unfinished....your poem obviously 'takes me places'  very powerful pen you possess; like how you bookend this one as well, good touch ....cheers poet, welcome here
