Mercy

Mercy

O God of Abraham
Isaac, Jacob
In evil I have played
And so I speak to you in kind
Begging for forgiveness
Pleading for grace
That mercy be bestowed
And compassion be swayed
To join us in the garden of sin

That you opened your gates
Let in love and peace
Swam up the river of hope
Undressed upon the banks of loneliness
Placed vine leaves on these wounds
Squeezed life from death
Sweetness from pain and
Love from hate

There our brothers lay
In the valley of desolation
And our sisters strewn across the
Stones of hurt
Bones waiting for vultures
Skin dried in the sun
Blood red, stone cold
Waiting for
forgiveness

O God of Abraham
Isaac, Jacob
In evil I have played

awesome! a plea, a prayer!

what a wonderful comment by susan as well,

~~you see
beauty does not have to be sweet, fluffy and harmless.. beauty can be in conviction, and
the realization of what and who we truly are..
