MERCY CRIES

MERCY CRIES

Wisdom speaks in the streets
Calling on the strong and weak
Come drink from my fountain of life
And walk forever in the light

Love holds out its hand
Reaching for those that are lost
In life's deceitful plans

It causes feeble feet to stand
And snatches the souls of men
From Satan's crushing hands

But mercy cries all day long
Knowing that man needs forgiveness
For his wrongs

Mercy knows there is nothing
A man can do
To deliver himself from the sins
That pierces him through

But man would not humble himself
He stands proud and stoned faced
Like a dead statue on a shelf

And in his ignorance he dies
And for every lost soul
Mercy cries.
