Merry Christmas My Beloved Family

I remember happy days so long ago, when the four of us would rise;
And race out to our Christmas tree, to see gifts before our eyes!
Melodee and I would see, that Santa knew exactly what to bring;
We’d pick each one up and look at it, then our happy hearts would sing!
It was always such a special day, for not only did we honor old St. Nick;
It was Father’s festive birthday too, we’d have a big cake with candles all aflick!
We’d also have an open house, from noon till early night;
A bar with booze that ever flowed, a buffet with delicious foods to bite!
These memories are so dear to me, my Sister, Mom and Dad;
For now they all have passed away, so this time for me is sad!
I wish you all were still here with me, and laughing by our tree;
But since you aren’t, I say to you, Merry Christmas, my beloved Family!

Hi Sweet Rose,
Don't forget my sweet surrogate daughter Rose to help me celebrate. Maybe someday we'll meet in person. Until then, I'l be sending all my love to you.
Love you,

My Larry that is a lovely tribute to your family and it`s wonderful to hear about your early Christmas holiday memories when you were both young. I love the smell of Christmas trees as we always had and still have a real one, the smell of pine needles always brings back lots of childhood memories for me and all my kids too.
Well done for this piece sweetie.
I love you both

My Dear G,
Thank you for your lovely words. Christmas was always so special to us, as we'd celebrate "it" in the morning, and then start preparing for my Father's birthday and open house. I treasure these dear memories. Also, I know just what you're talking about with the smell of the pine needles. I go to the grocery store about five times a week, first thing when they open at 7 a.m. They started getting Christmas trees in, right after Thanksgiving. They kept them in front of the store, and I was getting there a few minutes early, just so I could smell the beautiful aromas of the pine needles. There is no other like it to remind one that it's Christmastime.
All my love,
Larry xxx
