Messengers From Afar

You know by cutting that tree,
You just destroyed me,
You tore my heart in three,
Destroyed my artistry?
I didn't ask to be,
But now I'm glad cause we,
Are moving swiftly,
Towards the unity,
Towards the days where we,
Are more than just you and me.
Maybe one day they'll see,
Maybe they'll set us free,
So we don't die tragically,
Without being who we,
Who we truly are:
Messengers from afar.

HI lukasz I like the formatting and rhyming in your
Piece but i can t seem to get to the heart of what it is about
I wonder if you could enlighten me ? please I am thinking maybe the destruction
of rainforests and such the cutting down of the trees,Cheers Debs
Hello! Personally, this poem was written about a personal experience when my favourite tree I used to climb a lot and hang out around got cut down. But, I like the rainforest approach to it, yes. There is definitely an undertone of rage because of what is happening to the rainforests around the world. Overall, I just hope everyone finds their own meaning in the poem.
HI lukasz every reader has their own interpretation as you
say that is the beauty of poetry, I understand your rage
childhood memories are lovely to keep and change
as in cutting your tree down can affect you greatly
