Metamorphosis

Have you ever taken the time
To think and realize
How much we humans 
Have in common with butterflies

We start as a small child 
And as we grow we change 
Like a caterpillar and metamorphosis 
Isn't that strange

Some of us curl in a cucoon 
We stay sheltered and withdrawn
Others party and reproduce
Some have devil's spawn 

We could've been the worst child 
But be the sweetest adult
Or be a well behaved one
And then later join a cult

We all change from the time
We are young to when we're old
We could end up sweet and warm hearted
Or bitter and cold.

Life is like metamorphosis 
Throwing curves along the way
Every decision can make or break us
We change a little every day
