Midnight Door Locking

Midnight Door Locking

Midnight mania
When I feel the scariest
Becomes someone other than I
That person’s not scared to die

The things I’ve seen them do
In the mirror at midnight

They say they look their best
With bones out of place
Like their body’s a puzzle
Pick-apart attraction site

“If only, if only
doesn’t matter who
really really
mess me up all sorts of ways”

It’s just not right

“Afterwards, could you maybe
hug me, too?
Even though I’m bad
for wanting to see blood”

Please say that’s a lie

Their arms were so warm
The sheets started to melt

Midnight, don’t lock the door
Don’t come knocking anymore
Their skin is too sore
Please, no more
No more
Just no more
