Poem -

This Is The Way The World Ends

Somewhere beyond my bedroom window,
a wind chime dances
in the clutch of the rising wind.

A freight train growls
through the gut of a rusting trestle.
A semi groans
up the sagging spine of the valley.

Barges drone
beneath the white breath of the river.
An airplane coughs
in the black throat of the sky.

Soon, the rumbling thunder
will unleash a terrifying clap,
one bright bolt of eternity
falling.
