Poem -

MIDWINTER LAND

Black black beauty
Eerie night
Frost hardened earth
And bitter bite
Of hush hush quiet
Frozen still
Oh, thankful soul
For this nights thrill

Mother moon
All here and there
Imperious glow
She smiles a scare
Lights lowly maid
With mocking glare
Queen beauty
Of ethereal fare

Rustling sounds
As bats take flight
Wonder weeps
At perfect sight
And beauty haunts
The man who stands
And pauses
In midwinter land
