The mirror

The Mirror

Smile.
Please?
It becomes you.
Really it does.
When you look in the mirror, is the face truly your own?
Or is it someone else's?
A shadow of a girl you once were.
So violently broken;
So hopelessly shattered.
The world is dead to you.
You are numb.
You smile, but it means nothing.
There's no feeling,
No hope,
No happiness.
Nothing.
No one understands,
Do they?
You know you should smile,
Oh my dear. If you only could..
The world would be so much better for you.
It's me.
Can't you tell?
No one understands what I see when I look at myself.
When I look in the mirror.
Because all I see when I look in the mirror,
Is a hollow shell; a shattered reflection of the real me.
