Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who's the vainest of them all?
And there was no long pregnant pause,
For the mirror instantly proclaimed loudly...
Mankind!
Marion many thanks and you are right there are some real posers out there and posers not just vain but selfish as well towards others, they wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire types.
Thanks again Marion and I'll be reading more of you soon.
And that's a promise made in Wales, so I've got to keep it!!â€ïž

Pratibha welcome back and long time no see and thank you for your superb comment.
And both your Mirror, Mirror poems on page 33 of your brilliant Tangles + Knots poetry book are so sublime and reflective (no pun intended).
And for the record this was based on what I once saw in the Gent's toilet festooned with large mirrors and a so called man who's vanity staggered me along with his make-up equipment laid out before said mirror!!!
A real proud as a peacock poser.
Anyway that's by the by and this poor poet is zonked for tonight after a real slog of a day, but bid a return tomorrow night and to look at your poems new/old and other members too.
And when I am tired I tend to look through poems and not at them and any comments are not truly thought through thus not giving any poet my true insight for all they have toiled over to present.
I'm going on a bit aren't I, Pratibha!!đ€Ł
And simply say thank you and enjoy life and hope your good self and your family around you are all doing fine and dandy.â€ïž
Hi Shaun! Thank you for the lovely long welcome...I loved it...only you can do it so well!!
oh I'm glad you recall it my poem!!
But so interesting what prompted your write!! In the toilet mirrors as well...obviously thats where all the vainest people go...in fact any mirror or reflective surfaces! I love short poems...they can create great impact....like this one.
we shall chat again soon.....after your good night rest....I hope you had a good few weeks off on your holiday recently. Pxxx
Ahhh so very true Shaun! I loved this one hell of a lot. Also, pssss... there'll be a private message swimming your way in only a few hours. I have something fun to share with you!
Max many and mucho thanks my friend and they are out there, the posers and you can't kill them nor kick them down cold grey granite unforgiving stairs and call it an accident.
Well, perhaps maybe once or twice.đ€Ł
And pssss, whisper, whisper... I'll read it and reply back to it early tomorrow morning for I've had a helluva day and the land of nodeth calleth me.
And after today I am crying out for some much needed fun to recharge this weary and depleted heart and mind.
See you on the poetry flipside Max and thanks again my poetry brother.
Your friend, Shaun.
Nicely done Shaun, we are remarkably big headed as a species. We have the worst ego. I loved you used what is seen as a child's fairytale as your scene to set the message within. because mankind's vanity is rather childish in nature. I am not sure we will ever grow up as speciesÂ
Pinned for such power and cleverness :)Â
Hi Shaun,
The mirror mirror, is very observant! Humanity is a pain in the arse đ€Ł
I thought I'd join you in the "Poetic Past Tour" and I'm very glad I did
much enjoyedÂ

Hi Lorna!
Used the word Mankind and not Womankind or Humankind to make a pointÂ
Saw your comment after just arriving here and hence this reply.
And I read and tagged yesterday eve' your Vampire's Remorse and it knocked me poetry socks off!!
That good!!
For you mention "Poetic Past Tour" and on my journeying through pages, noticed you are quite the artist and good to know you have a foot in art and poetries camp.
