Mirtazapine
Insomnia
Irritable insomniaΒ
Such a stubborn scratch to itch
Unwieldy awkward positions
Fatigued eyelids twitch...
Antidepressants prescribedΒ
For the normal and contented
No thanks doctors and psychiatrists
I'm not a broken person to be mended...
If I'd only listened years ago
As they were prescribed off label
Prescribed for their drowsy side effects
But I was ignorant and ungrateful...
How I used to hate bed time
Now it can't come soon enough
I just can't wait to lie there...
Snug...like a hamster in fluff...
In the USA the FDA
Gave you a black box warning
But in UK you are as they say...
As vibrant as a bright summer morning...
Mirtazapine, MirtazapineΒ
I lay in bed until well past noon...
No nightmareish dreams in my cotton head
A baby back in the womb

Awesome pin-worthy masterpieceΒ
Thank you so much Lisa. It's not often I write without having a drink first. I seem to have pulled it off this time.
Much appreciatedΒ - Syd xoΒ
God...well done you...personally I detest mirtazapine, they only ever gave me restless legs, however, I do completely understand the overwhelming desire to be in the darkness...'back in the womb' with whatever little 'smarty' it takes to get there x
Hi Marion,
Thank you. It's the only antidepressant that's ever worked for me and I don't even have depression. Just problems with sleeping. In the past I've had adverse affects to such pills. It's still early days though so fingers crossed. I'm glad you enjoyed the write.
Take careΒ - Syd xoΒ
Well written, I'm not much for pills, but definitely know what insomnia is. Been sleeping like shit since I was 13, used to drink alot, but pretty sober these days. Anyways loved the poem.
Hi Rennetta, apologies for the extremely late reply. I'm sorry to hear that you too suffer from insomnia. I'm pleased you like the poem.
Take careΒ - Syd
