MISSING YOU

A husband in need

MISSING YOU

MISSING YOU

As I stare at the circle of love you placed on my finger

Just a few days ago,

My hands have not felt such gentleness since

Neither my lips have been complimented

With succulent kisses.

How my heart burns with passion for you

My dear wife.

The fire of love consumes my entire soul

And every passing day,

The distance between us grows.

The sound of your voice on the telephone

Cannot compare to the fragranced words

That gracefully falls from your lips,

How I miss your starlet eyes.

Day and night, I pray for the wind of fortune

To pass my way so I may sit on the clouds

And sail into your arms of love

Where my heart can find comfort and joy.

From the abundance of my heart,

My mouth speaks.

Wilford Barker.
