Misstep

Misstep

I told her not to love you

She told me she wouldn't get attached

I told her not to lie

She wasn't watching were she went

And somehow I was tripping over everything you said

She started stumbling over everything you did

One misstep is all it took

I tripped and fell right off the edge

And now there's nothing she can do

I close my eyes to embrace the free fall

All she can do is bite her tongue

And hope you're waiting to catch us at the bottom.
