Modern Sapien's Burden

K . . . will it matter who started it first?

Do we even really know...

Most think they can get away with it

but this burden is forged like a steel tumor to the foreheads of all:

every unethical consumer regardless their colour or creed

Our hands saturated with the karma of this deed

This exploitation of broken souls

The pollution that causes Nature woes

I am not exempt from the guilt

the culpability as

accessory to the crime

Which ology will critical reason adopt

to assess this situation and stop

this rot,

this festering moral and vital decay?

When will science catch up and confess,

"Humanity is in spiritual poverty!"

That our obsession for control has lead us to utter depravity

an essenceless mass breaking apart under the law of entropy

for having abandoned the Binder of life;

for having blocked out the Contender

who wrestles only to give a blessing;

for having settled for the curse?

Could anything be worse?
