The Boyfriends Death

Another Urban Legend

The Boyfriends Death

A long while ago maybe a decade or more,
Before mobile phones or longer I'm sure,
A quiet country backroad in the dark of the night,
An Urban Legend revealed, and into plain sight.

A boyfriend and girlfriend were sitting in the car,
Driving back home and alone in the dark,
A long winding road with nothing around,
The music from the car was the only dull sound.

All of a sudden, the cars engine dies,
Running out of gas, to the boyfriends surprise,
He quickly started thinking, and the decision was made,
He had to leave his girlfriend, and promptly find aid.

With her safety in mind, the car doors were locked,
Testing the doors, to make sure entry was blocked,
Wanting to return quick, he left like a bull at a gate,
All the girlfriend had, was a long nervous wait.

The girlfriend tried not to notice, the silence of the trees,
The darkness of the road, and her increasing unease,
But as she waited longer, a look of concern,
As still she is waiting, for her boyfriends return.

As she was about to get out of the car,
She noticed her boyfriend walking up from afar,
Finally returning, her face had a grin,
But the figure outside, was definitely not him.

She screamed out so loud, the strangers head cocked,
She frantically checked, that the doors were still locked,
The strangers hand raised, much to the girlfriends sheer shock,
She thought he'd have a hammer, or was it a rock.

To her absolute horror, it was none of those but instead,
Holding onto the hair, of her boyfriends decapitated head,
She rechecked all the locks, they were closed nice and tight,
The stranger held up his other hand, and the car keys were in sight!
