Modernity

The current days were in

seem to leave little private time

Between androids, I-phones, and everything else

it's like an invasive, penetrating slime

Social media's attacking our privacy,

    much like a door-pounding fist

Having Facebook, Twitter, and this obsession with ' selfies '. . .

are we creating a world of narcissists ?

I suppose the future will pass judgement

on this behavior that we've shown

That is, if anyone still remembers

    the quietness, once known

Since history has taught us that

    important balances must be sought

And when certain freedoms are involved,

things like this can't be bought.
