Poem -

A Moment of Weakness

Happy smile in the mirror,
why so fake as the time draws near.

She reaches to her soul to her only friend,
let's just try to fit in.

Cloths are laid out for her to wear,
they say she will look stunning as they prepare.

Her family gathers in a small room,
there's so much dark and so much gloom.

So many seats ready to be filled,
nobody here seems to be thrilled.

Just as predicted nobody shows,
all of the empty seats seem so low.

Her family begins to cry,
please children wipe your tears dry.

She walks out in front for everyone to see,
why is no one looking at me?

Screaming and shouting with all of her might,
something does not feel right.

A line begins to form,
outside it starts to storm.

Everyone walks up to this box,
she turns around and is so shocked.

In this box is a girl,
as she looks down her toes begin to curl.

She looks her up and down at her cut,
she starts to get sick and can feel it in her gut.

This girl sleeping so very long,
tried to stay so very strong.

Her life was taken with one single cut,
now she shall keep her eyes shut.

She begins to realize that this girl is her,
even though everything is still a blur.

She couldn't keep everyone pleased,
so now her soul can rest and can be at ease.
