MOMENTS

Have you ever had a moment
So beautiful, so rare
So completely unexpected
Body, heart, mind, soul
All there
Immersed as one completely
That exact moment in time
When something
Other
Triggers
A reaction in ones soul
So fine
Today I had that moment
Whilst buying gifts galore
And heard a male voice choir
Singing proud
Outside a store
And in the cold and half dark day
Amid twinkling lights and Santa's sleigh
I fought hard to keep 
Tears
Bittersweet
At bay
As voices soared through carol's known
And whispered sorrowed hymns
I sat, so moved, upon a bench
And felt my heart 
Contract and clench
For all that is Christmas
It's essence so fine
Future, past, present
In those moments
Were mine.
