Poem -

Mommy and Daddy

Mommy and Daddy

~~Mommy and Daddy are screaming again,
Big fights that last all night,
Mommy and Daddy are screaming again,
Making me shiver in the dark with fright.

Mommy and Daddy are crying again,
Crying blue tears that shine,
Mommy and Daddy are crying again,
Hugging me and telling me that “I’ll be fine.”

Mommy and Daddy are happy again,
Taking me many to fun places.
Mommy and Daddy are happy again,
Making really funny faces!

Mommy and Daddy are quiet again,
Silence throughout my home,
Mommy and Daddy are quiet again,
Sitting as still as a stone.

You conveyed the scenario so well Anthony!  Loved the use of repetition in each stanza as the story unfolded.  A sad story and an all to frequent one; told with skill.  A vote and nom from me :)

Thank you very much,

I decided to do the poem in the eyes of the child, who actually feels the pain. I hope this will help lead to a nomination.

Hope I can do well here... First try. Want to tell a truthful story,
