Poem -

Monster

Monsters are monsters,

because they are abnormal.

They're enigmas;

They are alone.

And sometimes I wonder if left alone,

if I too will become a monster.

Monsters are malicious;

hurtful;

strange and foul;

But do they think they are these things?

Do they continue on,

believing that they are desecrating normality?

Or do they believe,

they are the key,

to salvation and acceptance for all?

I worry that locked away,

I will stray;

from the light,

and become my own personal prey.

I worry that I will be misunderstood,

and forced away,

without a say,

to whether I'm holy or wicked.

And I will sit and ponder

in silence

to whether or not I am the monster,

or conformity is thus.
