Poem -

The Moon And Me

Standing on the front verandah, I look out into the darkened night, the loneliness creeps in - feelings of isolation set the mood.

In the far distance, I can see the speckled lights of the houses scattered across the rolling hills. I imagine them filled with warmth and endless lively chatter as people share their day’s activities with loved ones.

Then I look around me, at my dark and empty house - the reality of my loneliness - a single tear escapes and falls down my cheek as I look up into the night sky.

I stare into the moon, looking for a face - for some kind of life. It's shining so brightly in its fullness - beaming out across the night's darkness.

I'm alone with the moon - the moon is alone with me - we're alone together
