Poem -

More than Human?

I am mortal. A mere man aspiring to snatch away promethean flame.

Slave the godly blazes to my will. Ascend above the average.

But yet I am cursed with such frailty of the flesh. Sickness, morality...all determinants of the dream.

I want to be so much more than human.

Ironic is the brutality of fact. My dream is limited by biology.

But more so holding than savage genetics; the definition of Human. Ever changing!

The philosophers still debate such depths. Who am I?

Fall to the lust of DNA...or debate amongst the marble halls of the crying poets and stern thinkers?

Such questions plague my quest to be More.

To defy something you must know its face. Before I can fully cast aside such a thing we must know our potential.

For depravity...for philanthropy.

An empty shell...my dream. Openness of the indefineable limit me.
