More Lives Than A Cat

More Lives Than A Cat

You called me late at night to lie
I knew that you longed to cry
To wash away the sins that gorged
In your heartΒ
The lusting forged

NightΒ after night, desires burned in you
Inferno, incognito
Love after love, the fires
turned icy blue
You loved them hot
You left them cold
What lies, truth be told
What did your heart scream to you when you pulled out the knife?
You were stabbed by guilt
And stabbed by shame
You screamed bloody murder
Conscience whispers

A new conquest saw you coming
Reading your lips in infrared
Seeing the lies you have said
But, your eyes make them sweet as wine and candy
He believes and takes your poison
Not caring if it takes his life
What did he scream to you when you pulled out the knife?
He cried "Die, you fucking bitch! Die!"

You were stabbed by guilt
Stabbed again by shame
He stabbed you with the truth by calling you a liar
You were put on a stake and set on fire
As you burned, he called you a witchΒ
And shot you when he screamed "Die, bitch!"
You cried bloody murder
And conscience whispers

You went home and looked in the mirror
The reflection was so much clearer
Eyeshadow ran from your teary eyes
Washing away everything but the lies
You struck the mirror, it shattered
You picked upΒ a shard to cut your wrist
Instead, your heart was cut in two
By the lies that haunted you
Each one of them killed you

Then came the acts
All the times you cheatedΒ
All the times you mistreated
All the times you hurt me
Every single flame that you lit
Burned you to death
Every single kiss
Took your last breath

And you call me late at night to die
To kill the old you, but there's no good-bye
She is still there and you know that
I know you have more lives than a cat
She won't go easily
And this may be your last life
So, let's love
...and live to find out
