More Than A Dad

More Than A Dad

Father, you were more than a dad

You were Teacher

You taught me many things without trying

And you were Preacher

Taught me right from wrong without knowing

For I was bad

But, still you would lead me to believe

That I was good

I am only good when I listen

And I do my best

To be your son

Father, you were more than a dad

You were my friend

You were there for me and still you are

There is no end

You may have left this earth, but you remain

To light my path

I go on each day with the belief

That I am good

I am only human, but I will do my best

Experience tells me I will

Because I am your son
