Mork calling Orson

Mork calling Orson

Skimming like a stone, upon an atmosphere. Fireball.
Living here among you all.
Opened eyes, to your demise.
Your greed for increased resources,
You took by force, more than you needed,
Even burned the skies.
Bleeding for your freedom, from the persecution of yourselves.
Curtsey to your leaders, on your knees you prayed for help.
Your bodies are a complex mix of very simple elements, organised uniquely, but inherited from parents.
Your feelings and emotions are unstable, everyone.
You have no comprehension.
You try but cannot access all the information of your brain's.
Those of you are able, labelled Genius', or insane.
You only use a fraction, that your consciousness can handle.
Most of you can actually, be controlled with a candle.
Susceptible to hypnosis, a very simple process.
It's easy to convince your mind is doing something else.
Your rules of time, control your progress.
Steadily predictable.
You witness, from your birth to death,
You're part of it, as well,
The miracle of life.
Look.
Touch.
Taste.
Hear.
Smell.

Nigel Cresswell...

Love this poem John, great read. And thank you many times over for the blast from the past. Mork and Mindy was absolutely my favourite show as a kid.

"Nanoo, nanoo", John, heh-heh.
Wow,
this really brought back some great memories. Luckily our local ME TV affiliate out of Chicago still plays Mork & Mindy reruns on the weekends here in Ohio where I reside.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane, my friend.

Hi John, I finally got round to watching the above video and reading your poem.Β

First of all...brilliant poem! Really enjoyed. I especially liked this part

Β You have no comprehension.
You try but cannot access all the information of your brain's.
Those of you are able, labelled Genius', or insane.

Love it.

Is the above video Mork and Mindy? I don't wish to make you feel old but I'm not old enough to remember it ha ha. Robin Williams speaks some wise words though.

Take care - SydΒ

Hey Syd, I just appreciate your input mate, but I'm glad you liked the poem. The video is a clip from a "Mork and Mindy" show, and I just love it. Every week the show was on, and they would do the whole "comedy sketches on set" thing, then at the end they would always do this "human/humanity observation/ lesson" , report thing; a positive message to remember. Β
And that was basically the model for the poem.Β
Always a pleasure to hear from you ☺
