Morning

Morning

As I lay in my bed this morning,
half dead and half alive.

Subconsciously decididing...
Whether to open my eyes and face the uncertain brightness
each day has to offer or to hide away in the consolling darkness of sleep.
Which makes me immune from reality.

As I lay in my bed this morning,
half dead and half alive.

I take a deep breath.
Devorcing the safety, which the darkness affords me.
I open my eyelids and look the uncertainity of the world in the eyes.
As the Brightness seeps into my eyes,
Illuminating the window panes of my soul.
Revitalizing every stream of hope that lay empty in my being.

The light which I once feared,
now looms with unending posiibilities.
As I marry this brand new day,
I also wed its instrinsic uncertainties
-but-
It is through this union that I know I am alive.
