Poem -
Morning Wood
It takes two cups of cappuccino
Just to get me ready for the day
As IĀ enter the traffic of the concrete city
My radio's blasting AC/DC
But I'm not moving or shaking
Cause the air conditioner is broken again
And the big lake don't smell so sweet
This early in the morning
But I have to keep the window open
And sometimes I wonder if it's worth it at all
cause I know I'll never be rich
or happy, doing this zombieĀ role call
my heart is on some island in the sun
somewhere, writing poetry by the sea
waking up every day
with my morning wood ready
and your warm body to saveĀ me
